have been extremely beneficial in providing long-term benefits that have resulted in increased populations of certain wildlife, such as waterfowl, pheasants, prairie chickens, etc. However, short-term increases for species such as quail and early succession dependent wildlife have not been sustained, and continued refinement of existing Conservation Programs is necessary.

Quail Unlimited® has been working diligently with state, federal and other conservation partners in helping craft recommendations for the 2007 Farm Bill. We have been a partner in or support the following:

Member of the Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership's (TRCP) Agricultural and Wildlife Working Group (AWWG) and we support its "Growing Conservation in the Farm Bill."

Member of the Southeast Quail Study Group (SEQSG) and we recommend its "Quail In The Farm Bill" considerations.

Member of the Forests in the Farm Bill Coalition and we promote its forest/wildlife opportunities for the 2007 Farm Bill.

Believe that the Biofuels Innovation Program as proposed by the National Wildlife Federation has merit and should be seriously considered for the 2007 Farm Bill, with adequate safeguards for creation and maintenance of wildlife habitat.
