Quail Unlimited Seed Day
Emanating City/State:  ,

August 01, 2010—The Chapter of Quail Unlimited announces their annual seed day on , , at . is located .
Quail Unlimited members will be present from : to : to assist landowners in loading seed.

A variety of seed will be available for those landowners wishing to obtain seed to plant in wildlife food plots. will be charged to pay for shipping and handling and landowners will be limited to bags per landowner. All seed must be used for conservation purposes only. Those obtaining seed must also sign an agreement that seed will not be for commercial use.

The Quail Unlimited Seed Program is made available through several national seed companies which donate surplus seed for wildlife use. The seed, consisting primarily of grains, is used to develop winter feeding and cover sites for quail and other species. Although food is rarely the limiting factor in quail populations, supplemental food sources do provide benefits.

In most areas, adequate nesting and brood cover are more limiting than food sources. However, with a lower seeding rate and some overseeding of legumes, food plots can also serve as brooding areas.
