The Madison, Paris and South Shelby teams received five cases of shells each worth $375. Team sponsors all agree that donations such as this are very important as the teams use large quantities of shells for practice and events. In return, teams are asked to be involved and participate in various Quail Unlimited projects held throughout the year, such as the fund-raising banquet and conservation preservation projects, where they are exposed to the fundamentals of conservatism. Joining Bob in making the presentations were Mark Twain QU members John DeGarmo, Harvey Turner, Donald Simpson and Jamie Ebbesmeyer. The Mark Twain Quail Unlimited chapter is a non-profit group which promotes quail and other wildlife conservation through youth activities, education, landowner technical assistance, the funding of habitat improvement projects and having conservation equipment available for rent. The activities of the Mark Twain Quail Unlimited chapter are made possible through funds raised at their annual fund-raising banquet. The 2008 banquet was held on September 27.
