Quail Unlimited Gun Dog Championship Program Brief Sheet

 

Rules            

The format of these championships will be run according to the rules of the National Shoot To Retrieve Association (NSTRA). The Quail Unlimited trials do not have to be sanctioned by NSTRA, but they must utilize the NSTRA trial format.

 

Regulations

These trials will be regulated by the individual group/chapter putting on the trial.  Trial hosts should elect a grievance committee to handle any problems encountered during the trial.

 

Requirements        

Trials must be held using the NSTRA format.  A flat fee of $5 per dog entered, with a minimum of 24 dogs, must be submitted to Quail Unlimited, along with a completed report within 30 days of the scheduled event.  There is no competitor maximum.   All competitors MUST be QU members or join and pay at the trial.  Competitors must be at least 16 years of age. Judges must also be QU members who are accessible for verification of results.  Infractions must be reported to Quail Unlimited National Headquarters by one or both of the judges.  Veering from the NSTRA format will result in disqualification of the trial and any awarded points will be revoked.

 

Championship Points       

Points will be awarded to the top three placements:  

1st place receives 3 points

                                                2nd place receives 2 points

                                                3rd place receives 1 point

 

In order to become a Quail Unlimited Gun Dog Champion, 18 points must be accumulated.  At least 9 of those points must be received for top placements (1st place).  POINTS ARE CUMULATIVE.
